While at times Parou resembles their perpetrator, at other times they resemble themselves as they were on the night of their rape.
In the epilogue Boku Tabun Hentai, Parou meets another older man in a bar and fucks them in the bathroom. While it's never stated explicitly, this meeting is heavily coded as sex work. There's another scene, about a third of the way through the manga, where Marika and Ryousuke bump into Parou, who's meeting with an older man. Parou's character is complex and painful-deserving of sympathy, even if certain actions they commit are unforgivable. Ryousuke catches Parou in this act and, rightfully, knocks them the fuck out. This is a complex scene, because though Marika yearns for Parou, Parou immediately goes for her dick, and when Marika gains an erection she becomes intensely gender dysphoric. At the end of volume 1, Parou rapes Marika. While such a stance doesn't necessarily have to be problematic (sadomasochism and consent aren't mutually exclusive), we see it expressed in a horrific way early on in the manga. They fuck to be perverted themselves and to pervert the other. In other words, sex for Parou became a perverse act which existed for the purpose pain. This led to a complex later in life where they believed they were only desired if they presented as a woman, but that this desire from the other would always be a desire for their destruction. They were dressed in girl's clothing by an older boy then raped. It's revealed about halfway through the manga that Parou was sexually assaulted by their neighbour when they were a child. I personally think it's worth getting spoiled, because this manga is insane and touches on complex, and at times disgusting, relationship dynamics, and I want you mfs to read it. And Satoshi is a nonbinary person who prefers presenting femme.īig spoilers from here on out: cw, rape, sadomasochism, dysphoria, sex addiction, neglect, PTSD, and complex-PTSD. Parou is a gay boy whose homophobic senpai would only go out with them if they dressed as a girl. Ryousuke is a bi boy who begins dressing as his recently deceased sister to support his mother who has had a psychotic breakdown. Marika is a straight transgirl who has always felt like a girl.
If I hadn't already known people who'd experienced such things (as victims and perpetrators), I'd have thought Bokura no Hentai was being edgy and exploitative, but it's not.īokura no Hentai is about four people who present femme for very different reasons. Bokura no Hentai is not afraid to explore abuse in queer communities the unintended actions of traumatised persons to reproduce their perpetrator's abuses in later relationships.
